We have puppies ........... Also please e-mail for names of reputable breeders in your area or contact one of the Beagle clubs in the UK to check and see if the breeder you are buying from is one they would recommend.
************
Please ensure that the breeder of your darling Beagle puppy follows the Kennel Club guidelines in that:
No puppy/puppies should be sold until at least 8 weeks old. *If the 'breeder' states the puppy is KC registered then see below for pictures of what the registration looks like. If you do not get this paperwork then you cannot transfer the puppy into your name and you are basically buying a mutt.*
Mother/Dam must be *well* over one year old before she is mated. *No dam should have litters on consecutive seasons.*
Dam must not have any more than six litters by the time she is 8 years old and must not be bred from after age of eight.
All Puppies should be vaccinated by a qualified veterinary surgeon (as required by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate) and wormed and sold healthy. Also Receipts/proof of purchase to be given at time of sale.
All breeds should ideally be Hip scored, eye tested before breeding where necessary (depending on individual breed type) and insured if possible.
When purchasing a puppy try and see the puppy's parents on site where possible and check out the general conditions. *You should ALWAYS see the mother, do not agree to meet the 'breeder' halfway to collect your pup unless you have seen the dam - you don't know what you might be buying and some puppy farmers sound so nice on the telephone!*
If in doubt always have prospective new puppy vet checked before you buy. *If you have any doubts then please do not buy, you may just be helping to keep a puppy farmer in business. Most reputable breeders will have 'golden oldies' lounging around the place - if they have around 14 very young breeding Beagles and do not attend dog shows then they are breeding purely for profit with no real love of the breed.* Check how many years they have owned, loved and researched this breed before having litters - what research did they do into pedigree's and how much do they know or care about their health!
